Saif Ali Khan is currently getting brutally trolled on social media on his comment that he has also been a victim of nepotism. Earlier in the lockdown, in an interview with Anupama Chopra, the actor had admitted to being privileged and that he really appreciated the people who were coming up purely by the talent and there were many that had a much easier way of coming up. But in his most recent interview with New Indian Express, he talked about how he also has been a victim of nepotism.
Opening up about the incident, he said:
Nepotism in its purest form is something that even I have been a victim of. But nobody’s interested in that. Businesses work like that. I am not going to take names but somebody’s dad has rung up and said don’t take him, take him in the movie. All that happens and it has happened to me.
Saif had last found himself tangled in nepotism controversy when he had hosted an award show along with Varun Dhawan and Karan Johar and they had joked about how nepotism rocks. He had later apologized for the statement saying that he hadn’t written the joke and he does not stand by it. He clarified that it was supposed to be a joke on themselves. He said that he realized this must’ve hurt people’s sentiments. In another recent interview, he was of the opinion that he didn’t know what Kangana Ranaut was talking about back when he had gone on Koffee With Karan with her.
